Indiana se lleva la victoria ante las Dream por 84-92
gracias a un gran primer cuarto, en el que consiguieron una ventaja de 8

Como explicaba Katie después
del partido, “A veces era muy muy bonito, y a veces, era muy muy feo. Pero es
mucho mejor aprender de una victoria que de una derrota”. Con 9.403 personas en
el Bankers Life Fieldhouse viendo en el partido, 5 jugadoras llegaron a los
dobles dígitos, lideradas por los 21 puntos de Katie Douglas, Tamika Catchings
con 16, y Jessica Davenport con un doble-doble 12 puntos y 10 rebotes.
El peor cuarto para las
locales fue el tercero, cuando Atlanta remontó el partido, de un 47-32 a 62-60,
pero Indiana con un parcial de 14-0 dejaron el marcador en 76-60 para el último
cuarto con un triple en la bocina Davenport. “En el calentamiento tenía ganas
de tirar estos tiros sin sentido” dijo Davenport. “Al final fue algo bueno

Jessica Davenport “The first Fever double-double of the
season. She scored 12 points including a last-second 3-pointer to end the third
quarter, and grabbed a team high 10 rebounds. She also added three blocked
shots and one steal.”
QUOTABLE:
Lin Dunn “I love
to start the season with a win over Atlanta. We got good help from the bench.
We stared very well. Atlanta did not seem as intense to start the game. We did
not reposnd to their intensity in the third quarter. We got good help from
everyone who played. We gave up too many offensive rebounds in the second half.”
Katie Douglas: “There
were times when it was really pretty and times it was very ugly. We did a good
job of sharing the basketball. We came out flat at halftime, didn’t handle
their adjustments. We will take this win learn from it and try to get better.”
